JBEI researchers are committed to mentoring the next generation of scientists and encouraging a diverse STEM workforce. JBEI hosts many undergraduates and high school students each year. Mentored by JBEI scientists, students are given the opportunity to work in the lab on projects related to JBEI’s research program, and learn about industry’s current challenges and opportunities.
Once at JBEI, recruited researchers are given continuing education and training, namely through in-house seminars and tutorials on the latest state-of-the-art lab equipment. Ongoing education has been key to the success of JBEI’s research efforts and to the workforce growth in the cellulosic biofuels industry.
Applications for internships and other research programs can be submitted directly to JBEI or by applying externally through one of our partners.
