Tina Wang is the Director of Laboratory Operations. Tina provides leadership and oversight of technical aspects of laboratory operations for all research divisions and programs at JBEI. Together with the Lab Operations Team, she develops and implements lab safety orientation for new research staff and assesses evolving project and equipment needs. She and her team are responsible for resolving all research support issues so that researchers may focus on pushing forward the science.
Tina has a Master’s degree in Biological Sciences and is a Plant Molecular Biologist by training. Her research background spans plant genomics, molecular breeding, plant-microbe interactions, and plant recombinant protein engineering from academic and private industry labs. She brings experience in laboratory and project management from various biotechnology research organizations. Prior to arriving at JBEI, Tina managed start-up laboratories where she built and oversaw research operations and implemented process improvement for streamlining short and long-term projects.
