Jenny Onley

Post Doctoral Researcher

Dr. Jenny Onley is a postdoctoral fellow at Sandia National Laboratory and an affiliate at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Her research focuses on characterizing lignolytic enzymes to understand how a variety of conditions (e.g., temperature, pH, and lignin bond type) affect the activity of enzymes. Dr. Onley uses microfluidics and robotics coupled with nanostructure-initiator mass spectrometry (NIMS) for rapid and detailed screening of enzymatic reactions. The overarching goal is to use lignolytic enzymes to valorize lignin, thus improving the conversion of biomass to biofuels and bioproducts.
