DOE Biomass Feedstock Composition and Property Database

The database is a compilation of results from analytical tests conducted on biomass samples by Biomass Program scientists according to standard test methods. Nearly all are American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) methods. Information includes compositional analysis, structural chemical analysis, elemental analysis, proximate analysis, heating values, and lignin properties. The site is designed to make data on chemical composition and physical properties of various biomass resources available to energy professionals in the scientific and engineering community.

DOE Joint Genome Institute, Integrated Microbial Genomes

The Integrated Microbial Genomes (IMG) system ( Nucleic Acids Research, 2008, Vol. 36, Database issue ) serves as a community resource for comparative analysis and annotation of all publicly available genomes from three domains of life, in a uniquely integrated context.

Microbes Online Logo

Microbes Online

The MicrobesOnline genome database contains over 700 prokaryotic genomes. All genomes are analyzed through the VIMSS genome pipeline. We use publicly available sequence analysis tools and databases to search for homologs (NCBI BLAST, SwissProt, COG) and protein domains (InterPro), to assign gene ontologies (Gene Ontology Consortium) and EC numbers and to map the metabolic pathways (KEGG). We then link the orthology relationships between genes, predict operon structures and regulon networks.

Phyllis Logo

Phyllis Database

Phyllis is a database, containing information on the composition of biomass and waste. Phyllis enables you to make analysis data of individual biomass or waste materials available and offers you the possibility to obtain the average composition of any combination of groups and/or subgroups.

BRENDA – Enzyme Database

BRENDA is the main collection of enzyme functional data available to the scientific community. BRENDA is maintained and developed at the Institute of Biochemistry and Bioinformatics at the Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany. Data on enzyme function are extracted directly from the primary literature by scientists holding a degree in Biology or Chemistry. Formal and consistency checks are done by computer programs, each data set on a classified enzyme is checked manually by at least one biologist and one chemist.

Carbohydrate Active Enzymes Database

The CAZy database describes the families of structurally-related catalytic and carbohydrate-binding modules (or functional domains) of enzymes that degrade, modify, or create glycosidic bonds.

NIST Ionic Liquid Database

IUPAC Ionic Liquids Database, ILThermo, is a free web research tool that allows users worldwide to access an up-to-date data collection from the publications on experimental investigations of thermodynamic, and transport properties of ionic liquids as well as binary and ternary mixtures containing ionic liquids.
