The exterior doors of the building leading to the lobby will be unlocked between 8AM and 5PM. Between 5PM and 8AM, you must use your Wareham proximity access card to gain entry to the lobby at EmeryStation East.
You will access the elevator from the lobby. All JBEI occupants should use their LBNL ID proximity access card (a.k.a. prox card or card key) for elevator access to the 4th floor. It is imperative that you have your prox card visible from the waist up at all times. When exiting the elevator at the 4th floor, you can go east past the reception area towards the Executive Offices; if you exit the elevator and head west towards the labs, you will need to swipe your prox card at the doors.

Any vendor or repair person that needs to come on-site needs to have their visit scheduled in advance by their laboratory Point-Of-Contact, who must inform JBEI/ESE LBNL Security (486-XTBD), as well as the JBEI/ESE JBEI/ESE Facilities Manager.
EmeryStation East provides two jump elevators on the ground level for disabled
access. The elevators are located on the south side of Peladeau Street and the
north side of Hollis Street. These doors are locked for security purposes. To
gain entry, contact security desk using intercom located at the access doors.
The elevators will take you to the garden level where you can access any of the
elevators for entry to the building.
Scheduled guests: JBEI (ESE) occupants need to call the security desk at 486-XTBD with name, time expected, company name and host name of guest.
All guests (scheduled and unscheduled) are required to sign in at the security desk upon arrival, stating their citizenship and birth country.
Some guests, however, require special processing. Under DOE's guidance governing unclassified foreign visits and assignments (DOE O 142.3), all DOE facilities are required to document the visits and assignments of individuals who are citizens of, were born in, or are affiliated with sensitive or terrorist-sponsoring countries. Individuals from non-sensitive countries are also included in this requirement if they require access to a Property Protection Area (PPA). It is important then, to keep this in mind when preparing logistics for any visitors to our site.
NOTE: Requirements under DOE O 142.3 do not include those born in sensitive or terrorist-sponsoring countries who have become U.S. citizens. It does, however, cover immigrants or "green card" holders.
You can only enter the garage via the main door located west of Hollis St., on Pelladeu with your Wareham-enabled proximity card (all-white card). Only those cards with sufficient rights will be allowed access to the parking garage.
Parking is stil being worked through at this time - please check this site for further updates.
EmeryStation East encourages alternative commuting and has bike racks
available in the P1 level of the parking garage. The racks are located on each
side of the garage. To access the garage, please use the ADA elevator vestibule
located on the south side of Peladeau or the north side of Hollis. Security will
assist you with entrance to the garage. BICYCLES, SKATEBOARDS AND
ROLLERBLADES ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE BUILDING OR IN THE GARDEN AREA.
